How it works
How a faceless video gets made, and where you decide
Heady drafts. You decide. Then Heady makes the video.
Free to join. We'll email you when Heady opens.
Six steps
From topic to finished video
- 1You
Pick and brief
You pick a long video or a Short, a format and a length, and write the topic or brief (up to 4,000 characters).
- 2Heady
Heady drafts the script
For a long video, an outline in chapters, then each chapter.
Drafting the script doesn't use credits.
- 3You
Edit and approve
You read, edit and approve it: lines, chapters, lower thirds, voice, music and caption style. A preview plays in the browser.
- 4You
Render
The dialog shows the price in credits and an estimated ready time, and nothing is charged until you confirm.
- 5Heady
Heady makes the video
Heady makes the voice, illustrations, camera moves, transitions, captions and music, then assembles the video. You follow the progress live.
- 6You
Download
You download the MP4 and SRT, pick a thumbnail, and copy the title, description and tags. You get an email when a long video is ready.
Your call
What you approve
You approve the script and the credit price before Heady renders.
You never pay more than the quote. If the video comes out shorter than quoted, you pay for its actual length.
Heady's part
What Heady makes
The voice
AI narration, one narrator from start to finish: natural AI voices on paid plans, in English at launch and more languages later.
The illustrations
Choose the look of your video; every scene follows it. Every scene in a chapter is drawn from the same reference image, so characters, places and style stay consistent. Each image is checked automatically and redrawn if it misses.
Camera moves
Each illustration becomes a moving shot: push in, pull out, pan, tilt, orbit or static, chosen scene by scene.
Transitions
Pick a cut or a smooth transition for each scene.
Captions
Word-by-word captions burned into the video: pop, minimal or off, on 1 or 2 lines.
Music
Royalty-free background music, or none.
On-screen extras
Long formats add chapter cards, a progress bar with chapter marks, lower thirds and an end card.
Motion mode
On Pro and Studio, long videos can add animated chapter cards, counters, charts, timelines and quotes.
Deliverables
What you get
The MP4
The finished video in Full HD 1080p on paid plans, ready to download.
Chapters
Every long video comes in chapters, with the timestamps written into the description.
An SRT subtitle file
With every video, Shorts and long, alongside the word-by-word captions burned into the video.
3 thumbnail options
Three thumbnails at 1280×720 to pick from, and you can regenerate them.
Title, description and tags
Written for the video and ready to copy into YouTube.
Labelled as AI-made
A C2PA manifest that declares the video AI-generated, and the line “Made with AI using heady.video” in the description.
You upload to YouTube yourself. Direct upload is on the roadmap.
Edits
Change it after the render
- Regenerate an image (1 credit).
- Swap in your own image for any scene.
- Lock the images you like.
- Re-record a line.
- Change a camera move or a transition.
- Edit the text, then render again.
Rendering again is free 3 times per video. Every save is kept for 24 hours, then one a day for 30 days.
Quality and safety
Checks on every video
- Every finished video is checked automatically before you get it.
- Every brief and script is checked against our content policy.
- Every finished video carries a C2PA manifest that declares it AI-generated, and its description includes “Made with AI using heady.video”. You can move that line in the editor, but not remove it.
Plainly
What Heady doesn't do
- It doesn't post to YouTube for you: you upload yourself. Direct upload is on the roadmap.
- No avatars and no faces on screen.
- It doesn't clone voices, yours or anyone else's.
- Narration is in English at launch, with more languages later.
Questions
Questions about making a video
How long does it take?
You see an estimated ready time before you render, and your place in the queue while it runs.
Can I use my own images?
Swap in your own image for any scene: a PNG, JPEG or WebP of up to 25 MB.
What if a render fails?
If a render fails on our side or misses its deadline, all its credits go back to your balance.
Can I cancel a render?
If you cancel before a render starts, you get everything back. If you cancel after it starts, you pay for the part that is done.
