Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated

Heady generates scripts, images, voices and videos with AI. This policy sets out what you may not use it for, and what you must do when you publish what it makes. It is part of our Terms of Service.

1. Prohibited content

Do not use Heady to create, or to try to create, any of the following.

Sexual content and minors

  • Sexual or sexually explicit content of any kind.
  • Any content that sexualises minors, or depicts minors in a harmful way. We report such attempts to the authorities where the law requires.
  • Intimate imagery of a real person without their consent.

Deceptive deepfakes and impersonation

  • Realistic images, video or audio that show a real, identifiable person saying or doing something they did not say or do, unless you have their consent and the result is clearly disclosed as AI-generated.
  • Voices that imitate a real, identifiable person.
  • Content that pretends to come from a real person, company, government body or news organisation.
  • Fabricated evidence, documents, recordings or news reports presented as genuine.

Rights of others

  • Content that infringes copyright, trademarks or other rights, including uploads you do not have the rights to, and requests to reproduce protected characters, logos, artwork, lyrics or text.
  • Content that violates someone's privacy, such as revealing personal data about private individuals.

Harmful and misleading content

  • Hate speech, harassment, threats, or content that promotes violence or terrorism.
  • Content that promotes self-harm or dangerous activities.
  • Disinformation about elections, voting, public health or emergencies, presented as fact.
  • Health, legal or financial claims that are false or that present opinion as professional advice.
  • Scams, fraud, fake endorsements, and fake reviews or testimonials.

Abuse of the Service

  • Attempts to get around our safety checks, plan limits or credit counting.
  • Malware, attacks on our systems or other users, or automated access that we have not allowed.
  • Reselling access to Heady without our written agreement.

2. AI marks and disclosure

Do not remove our marks

Videos exported from Heady carry machine-readable marks that identify them as AI-generated, as described in our AI disclosure. Do not remove, alter, obscure or strip them, and do not use tools to do so.

Disclose where the law or the platform requires it

You are responsible for labelling your videos where required. In particular:

  • EU AI Act, Article 50(4). If your video is a deep fake (image, audio or video that resembles real people, objects, places or events and would falsely appear authentic), you must disclose that it is artificially generated or manipulated. For evidently artistic, creative, satirical or fictional work, the obligation is limited to disclosing the AI content in a way that does not spoil the work. AI-generated text published to inform the public on matters of public interest must also be disclosed unless it has been through human editorial review.
  • YouTube. YouTube requires creators to disclose realistic content that is altered or synthetic, for example content that makes a real person appear to say or do something they did not do, alters footage of a real event or place, or generates a realistic scene that did not happen. Use the disclosure setting when you upload.
  • Other platforms. TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and others have their own AI labels and rules. Follow the rules of each platform where you publish.

When in doubt, disclose.

3. Platform rules

Many platforms restrict content that is repetitive, mass-produced or misleading. YouTube's monetization policies, for example, exclude content with minimal variation across videos and AI-generated content made with generic templates that gives the impression of mass production. You are responsible for following the rules of the platforms you publish on. Heady is a tool for making videos you author and approve, not for flooding platforms with near-identical uploads.

4. Your review

Review every video before you publish it. AI can make factual mistakes and can produce images or narration that do not match what you intended. If something you did not ask for appears in an Output, do not publish it, and tell us at [PLACEHOLDER: abuse/safety contact email] if it may break this policy.

5. Enforcement

We use automated checks and, where needed, human review to enforce this policy [PLACEHOLDER: describe the checks and when staff may view content]. If we reasonably believe you have broken it, we may:

  • refuse to produce a video, or stop production in progress;
  • remove the content from your account;
  • suspend or close your account, as set out in the Terms of Service;
  • report illegal content to the authorities where the law requires.

Credits used on content that breaks this policy are not refunded. If you believe we made a mistake, write to [PLACEHOLDER: appeals contact email] and a person will review the decision.

6. Reporting

To report content made with Heady that you believe breaks this policy or infringes your rights, write to [PLACEHOLDER: abuse/safety contact email] with a link to the content and an explanation. For copyright complaints, include [PLACEHOLDER: notice requirements].

7. Changes

We may update this policy as the law and platform rules change. We will notify you of material changes in advance as set out in the Terms of Service.
